The Flow Collective

The Flow Collective was formed in 2021 by Whanganui singer-songwriter Elizabeth de Vegt, along with musicians Hamish Jellyman, Andrew Weatherall, Elise Goodge and Brad McMillan. Lizzie used poems from my collection Flow: Whanganui River Poems as the lyrics for original songs.

The Flow Collective has performed around New Zealand and has released a full-length album with Oro Records.

It has been heart-warming for me as a poet to see my poems having an ongoing life in the community as songs. Flow was originally written using a lot of historical song forms such as ballads, villanelles, canzoni and sonnets.
